On 20 January 2016, a suicide attack targeted a minibus transporting journalists affiliated with Tolo TV, Afghanistan's 24-hour news channel, as it traveled along Darulaman Road in Kabul. The attack resulted in the deaths of seven media workers and injuries to 25 others. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, though an individual claiming to represent an Islamic State-affiliated group also asserted involvement.
