Taliban forces killed a fuel tanker driver when he failed to stop at an insurgent checkpoint established along the highway connecting Jowzjan and Balkh provinces. Three additional civilians were wounded by crossfire during the incident. The checkpoint was operated by Taliban insurgents who opened fire on the commercial vehicle when the driver did not comply with their demands to halt.
