An explosive device was placed inside Mohammadia Shia Mosque in Khak-e-Jabbar of Ghazni City denoted during the evening prayer on July 6, 2019. At least three persons died, and 20 others were hurt in the tragedy. The Islamic State of Iraq and Levent-Khorasan Province (ISIL-KP) asserted responsibility for carrying the attack, stating that the group aimed at Rafida, a term used referring to Shia and Hazaras by extremist groups.
