Summary of incident

On March 11, 2018, a self-identified ISIS-KP member abducted a 13-year-old orphan who was related to a member of the Afghan Local Police in Darzab district. After holding the child hostage for one month, the perpetrator beheaded the boy. This brutal killing represents the deliberate targeting of a child based on his family connection to security forces.
