- Summary of incident
On October 25, 2016, armed militants abducted approximately 30-31 civilians, mostly shepherds and including some children, near Firozkoh. The captives were subsequently executed. The Taliban denied responsibility for the killings, suggesting they may have resulted from ethnic rivalries related to disputes over grazing rights and sheep theft. The massacre sparked angry protests in the area.
