Between August 6-20, 2017, ten civilians were killed and two others injured in separate incidents of violence across Logar province during a two-week period. Civilian casualties occurred in Taliban attacks, explosions, and gun attacks in the provincial capital Pul-i-Alam as well as Baraki Barak and Mohammad Agha districts. A provincial council member stated that both Taliban and Afghan security forces were responsible for civilian deaths in Logar. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed that civilians often suffered casualties in raids by Afghan and foreign forces.
