During the offensive, a Taliban-fired mortar struck a civilian home near the Chaparada District administration building. The impact killed five civilians—two girls, two boys, and one woman—and injured two other girls. The Taliban claimed responsibility for attacking nine checkpoints in Kunar Province, stating they had killed seventeen Afghan security forces personnel and injured nine others.
