On the night of February 11, 2024, Amanatullah Sadeghi, a former government police officer, was kidnapped by Taliban members while he was sleeping on the roof of his house in Tishkan district. His body was discovered the following morning in a cave near the center of Tishkan district.

Eyewitnesses reported that Sadeghi was strangled and killed to death. When his relatives approached the Taliban security headquarters in Tishkan to investigate his murder, Taliban officials claimed that Sadeghi had fallen and died. After the fall of the previous government, Sadeghi had been engaged in farming with no involvement in military or armed activities.
