- Summary of incident
On May 11, 2015, Taliban forces attacked a partnered operation of Afghan national security forces in Aqcha District, Jawzjan Province. The Afghan forces, consisting of Afghan National Army Special Forces, Afghan National Police, National Directorate of Security, and pro-government armed groups, were conducting a clearing operation in the area. Both sides used small arms and heavy weapons, including mortars, during the engagement. The fighting resulted in twelve civilian casualties: one child was killed and eleven civilians were injured, including two women and three children. Due to the intensity of the clash, sources were unable to determine which side caused the civilian casualties.
