On the morning of July 19, 2018, international military forces conducted airstrikes on a residential compound in Chahar Dara district during a ground operation by Afghan national security forces supported by international forces. The airstrikes killed 14 women and children, all members of the same extended family. Only one baby survived the attack, though injured. This incident represents one of the deadliest attacks on a single family by international forces during the conflict.
