Narrative:
On January 16, 2015, Aqil Mohammad Weqar, a local journalist working for Spinghar Local Radio Station, was shot dead in Hajian Village, Batikot District, Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan. Two days after the incident, other journalists organized a demonstration in Jalalabad City. They announced a boycott of news coverage related to anti-government forces and attributed Weqar's killing to the Taliban. However, the Taliban did not claim responsibility for the incident, and the government did not confirm the Taliban's involvement.
