One child was killed in a Taliban mortar attack in Kunduz City, the provincial capital, during a protest related to Afghan elections. One of the mortars struck a house, killing the child and wounding five other children. A member of Afghanistan's intelligence agency was also wounded in the attack. The indirect fire weapons targeted the area during civil demonstrations about electoral matters.
