On November 5, 2016, a sticky bomb attached to the vehicle of Ghalib Mujahid, chief of Bati Kot district, detonated in Nangarhar province. The explosion killed Mujahid's driver and wounded the district chief and another person. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the targeted attack against the local government official.
