On July 5, 2015, a Body-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack targeting the Afghan National Police occurred in Kandahar City, Kandahar Province. The explosion resulted in the deaths of five civilians and injuries to twenty-two others. The perpetrators of the attack remain unknown.
