NDS Special Forces conducted an operation against a reported high-value target, leading to clashes between pro-government forces and anti-government elements on the ground. USFOR-A conducted airstrikes targeting Taliban and Al-Qaeda positions. During the operation, two vehicles traveling back from a wedding were hit by airstrikes. UNAMA verified the death of 15 civilians, including five women and nine children, and 11 civilians injured, including two women and six children. According to the Afghanistan National Security Council, the operation was conducted against a "high-profile Al Qaeda group embedded with Taliban leaders" and a number of Taliban, "foreign fighters" and family members were taken into custody.
