- Summary of incident
NDS forces conducted a search operation in Nasir Khil village and called in air support after coming under fire from Taliban fighters. The resulting airstrikes killed 13 civilian members of two families. One strike hit the house of the village's lone doctor, killing him, his wife, and five teenage daughters. The second strike hit the home of the doctor's brother, killing him, his wife, and their four children. One of the families was related to an Afghan National Army soldier. While the Nangarhar governor claimed an important Taliban commander was killed, witnesses stated the strikes did not hit the Taliban commander's house. The incident was investigated by Resolute Support following witness testimonies.
