Summary of incident

On February 21, 2022, Taliban intelligence forces detained four individuals in Daykundi Province, Afghanistan. The detainees were associated with Sobhan Nayebi, a former member of the Daykundi Provincial Council. Those taken into custody included:

Two sons of Sobhan Nayebi Sobhan Nayebi's bodyguard Sobhan Nayebi's brother-in-law.

Sobhan Nayebi served as a member of the Daykundi Provincial Council under the previous government. In addition to his role on the Provincial Council, Mr. Nayebi had also held the position of district governor in Daykundi Province during the previous administration.
