On June 20, 2016, a Taliban suicide bomber attacked a minibus in Kabul carrying Nepalese nationals who worked as security guards at the Canadian embassy. The blast killed 27 people, including 13 Nepalese citizens, and wounded more than 48 others. The attack allegedly targeted a provincial council member.
